Review:
A very good movie, especially considering it is a sequel. And even considering not being allowed to use any footage from the first film!!

This movie is very, very good. It isn't exacly as good as the first, but what movie ever is?

It is funny at times, and scary at times, and I love the scenes where Ash is going insane, and when he is attacked by his severed hand.

But it deserves:

Not a bad movie, and there are some funny parts here and there. Not Schwarzenegger's best, but you can't expect too much, right? :)

The story is decent and everything looks good.
I'll watch it if it is on TV, but I won't go out of my way to see it.

Review:
I don't think my expectations were TOO high before watching this movie, but while watching it.. I realized.. it is really, really bad. :/ I had never seen it during my teen years, and maybe if I had seen it then, I would like it more now, but I don't think so.. :/

It was a good beginning role for Tom Cruise, I'll give him that. And a lot of the actors in the movie go on to become well known (even if only in nerd-roles).

The storyline is bland and dull. Comparing this to other movies of its time, Porky's, Risky Business just doesn't come close. Some parts are really funny and good, but only here and there, and it wasn't enough to keep the movie afloat.
It isn't all it is cracked up to be.
I didn't like it. :/

Ringu 2

Plot:
In this sequel to Ringu (1998), Mai Takano is trying to learn more about the death of her boyfriend, Ryuji. She soon hears stories about a videotape haunted by the spirit of a girl named Sadako, who died many years earlier. Supposedly, anyone watching the tape will die of fright exactly one week later. After some investigating, she learns that Ryuji's son, Youichi, is developing the same psychic powers that Sadako had when she was alive. Mai must now find some way to keep Yuuichi and herself from becoming Sadako's next victims. IMDB

Review:
This was not the original sequel to Ringu. The sequel is called The Spiral, and they were released at the same time in the theatre. No one liked The Spiral, so they remade the second movie, and it was called Ringu 2. I have never seen The Spiral, so I don't know which is better.. but I've read that The Spiral really answers a lot of questions that the trilogy doesn't. So, I really look forward to seeing that movie, even though it is supposed to be very boring.

I like this movie, it is okay, once again I think it could be scarier and darker, but it is much, much better than The Ring 2 (American version). This movie is pretty good and I would recommend it to anyone.

Language is Japanese. Shouldn't be too difficult to find, especially with English subtitles or dubbed.

So, it deserves:

Review:
This movie was once banned in: Australia, Nova Scotia, New Zealand, and the UK.

It is banned in: Ontario, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, (and probably Sweden, too).

The countries that lifted the ban, probably only did so for a heavily cut version.

Often named by film critic Roger Ebert as the worst movie ever made.
But - I love it. :/ :)

It is definately a Hurly movie. It is very violent.
So, I do not recommend this movie, unless you are into other movies like it.

Being a sequel, the movie is very, very good! Not as good as the original, but it works. And of course it has Jamie Lee Curtis. ;)

If I was to put in one of these movies, I would always pick the first Halloween movie, and pass this one over. But considering they follow each other very well, they are great to watch back-to-back.

After viewing the tape herself, strange things start happening, and so she teams up with her ex-husband to try to stop the death clock that has once again begun ticking. IMDB

Review:
This movie is nothing like the American version of the story, The Ring. They have a very, very similar story line, but this one doesn't go as in depth as the American version. It sorta skims the surface of the entire story.

As I enjoy The Ring, I like the Japanese trilogy much, much better.

Should not be difficult to find this movie. Language is Japanese, but should be very easy to find with English subtitles, if not dubbed.

It isn't a bad movie, but I always think that things can be scarier:

This movie makes Ilsa, Harem Keeper of the Oil Sheiks look like Lord of the Rings..... Okay.. well maybe not Lord of the Rings, but you get my point.

Review:
A very good movie. We watched this in my Swedish class and I liked it so much I made Fredrik watch it, too. :)

It is funny, and a little sad, too.

The actors do a great job.

This movie is supposed to take place in Bengtsfors, Sweden -- which is near the summerhouse, one of the closest towns near the summerhouse. My parents have even been there. :/ :) So, we've spent a lot of time there, which is also another fun reason to see it. :)

But it is a very good movie - I definately recommend it. Probably difficult to find if you aren't in Sweden or Europe. Language is in Swedish. But I'm sure if you find a copy in the States it would have English subtitles or even be dubbed.

Not perfect, not bad.

It works as a time filler. It isn't as good as the first movie of course, but it is better than some of the other Amityville movies.

An "okay" movie, but still a lot wrong with it, so it deserves a:

Review:
A very good movie!
I was very impressed with this movie when I saw it. Much better than I thought it would be.

It could be slightly better, with more vouyer/snuff stuff going on ... but the original version of this movie was 4 hours long!! and that, I suppose, was a little too long, so this was the released version of 95 minutes. So, I have a feeling that a lot of good stuff was cut and gone, lost forever. :(( :)

Banned in Malaysia.

Not perfect - because it could be a little darker - but still very good in my opinion.

Review:
Not bad - definately not good. :/ :)
This is a very strange movie, but I have seen much, much worse! It is actually easy to laugh at this movie, and it isn't boring. But near the end, you are saying to yourself, "okay.. where is the end?!?" :) But I would gladly watch this movie 100 more times before watching Old School again. :D

Definately not a movie for everyone, you have to like bad, old horror movies to enjoy this one; with a bad plot, bad actors, bad effects, etc..

Review:
Not a good movie. :/ :) And definately not for everyone.

This is a classic Italian cannibal movie: horrible fake accents, even worse acting, but the music is GREAT!! :D It is almost worth watching these movies for the music - or the special "travel music" as Fredrik and I call it.

This one has a bad plot, a very typical - people go in jungle, people get killed by cannibals, other people go look for dead people, these people get killed by cannibals, only 1 or 2 people survive.

Surprisingly, the language in this one is English (even though the dialect constantly changes), you may recognize one of the main actors from the movie American History X.

And you might recall the main character, Ursula Andress, from a famous Bond movie - Dr. No. Yes - she is the one that comes out of the sea in the white bikini. (Did you know - her voice was dubbed in Dr. No - too heavy of an accent (She's Swiss).) And to think - she ended up doing horrible, Italian cannibal movies. :/

This one isn't so bloody and gory as other Italian cannibal movies, but there are definately some nasty parts. Really makes you wonder how they could make such good effects on such a low budget - and movies today are just - awful.. :/

But anyways - I don't recommend this movie unless you are into movies like Cannibal Holocaust.

Of course it receives:

Review:
I like this movie. It is very simple and there are good actors.

I'm not much of a Sigourney Weaver fan, and in this movie her character wasn't very nice, so I think the role fit her well.

I'd definately recommend this movie.

Plot:
Michael Myers has been in an institution since he was a young boy, after murdering his sister. Now he's escaped and is heading back home to terrorise the quiet community which still remembers him. IMDB

Review:
Another one of those movies that I grew up watching, another one that I quote while it is playing to annoy Fredrik. ;)

A decent scary movie, and once again Jamie Lee Curtis is the Scream Queen. :)

The acting isn't that bad for being a 70's horror movie.

Christopher Lee was asked to play the role of Sam Loomis, but turned it down.
And all of the actors wore their own clothes, since there was no money for a costume department. Jamie Lee Curtis went to J.C. Penney for Laurie Strode's wardrobe. She spent less than a hundred dollars for the entire set. The movie was made on a budget of $400,000.

Definately a classic!

By brainwashing Zoolander, Mugatu and his evil associate Katinka create a dumb and willing killer to do the job. Only in Time Magazine journalist Matilda suspicion arises slowly, and she tries to stop Derek. IMDB

Review:
This movie is banned in Malaysia and Singapore! I have a feeling only because of how the movie is entirely about child labor laws, and how in the movie they are trying to kill the Prime Minister of Malaysia...

But it is a hilarious movie!! :) Much better than some of Stiller's newest stuff.

It isn't funny "haha," but it is funny.. :/ :) I think most people either really like this movie or really hate it.

Lots of cameos in this movie, Paris Hilton, Donald Trump, Victoria Beckham, Fabio, David Bowe, Billy Zane, just to name a few..

Sometimes I laugh outloud, other times I just shake my head and crunch my eyebrows...
Don't try to take this movie seriously in any way, shape, or form!

It wasn't "bad" but it wasn't good, either. :/ :)

Review:
Not nearly as good as other Korean movies we have seen. But it isn't "bad."

The story is a little strange, and a little confusing, but it does end up making sense. You get to see the same day twice, with his version and her version, and then the movie pulls together.

Definately a romance movie. I definately prefer other Korean genres. I'm not much for romance movies anyways. :/

The actors do a good job, and the plot is "okay."

Language is Korean, we had horrible English subtitles with no punctuation. Might be a difficult movie to find.

An awesome movie. This one has always been one of my favorites.

The remake was awful, this one (the original) is definately much better. The actors do such a great job, and even though the effects are lacking, it is still better than the remake!

Absolutely awful movie. :/ Dreadfully awful. :/ And completely confusing.

Luckily we watched this movie with Mystery Science Theater 3000, which made it somewhat bearable. (Otherwise we wouldn't have watched the movie in the first place!)

But it was an awful movie. The dubbing wasn't too good either.

Please, avoid this movie at all costs.
