Plot:
South Korea in 1986 under the military dictatorship: Two rural cops and a special detective from the capital investigate a series of brutal rape murder. Their rude measures become more desperate with each new corpse found. Based on a true case. IMDB

Review:
One of my most favorite movies. If you like foreign movies, this is definately one to see.

It is a detective movie, but there are also funny things here and there, as well.

Language is in Korean, but you should be able to find it with English subtitles. This movie may be a little harder to find, but it would definately be worth the trouble.

The plot is excellent, the ending is brillant, and the actors are believable and enjoyable.

The town detective tries desperately to save what forensic evidence they have, even though he puts every possible (innocent) suspect through torture measures to the point of confessing to the crimes. You personally have a sigh of relief when a proper detective shows up to help out with the crimes.

Definately one of the best movies I have ever seen.

Review:
Awesome movie!

This movie is banned in Iceland and Singapore, and was once banned in Ireland. And it has very high ratings in most countries for the uncut version of the movie. Which is really surprising to me because of how bad the effects are!! :/ :D

But this is definately a cult classic. I think they made this movie on a budget of USD 40,000!

This, I believe, was one of the first films in the UK to be labeled a "Video Nasty." Comparing this to other films I've seen, this movie is very calm and peaceful. :/ :)

But everyone should see this movie! Even though it is a horror movie, there are still funny parts. And I definately recommend watching it with commentary if at all possible.

And remember - this is a very low budget movie, if you are really good you can catch lots and lots of mistakes throughout the movie (hint for one: pay attention when they are crossing the bridge with the car).

One of my favorite movies!

Meanwhile the folding machine has acquired a taste for the flesh of human beings, but is their more to Bill Gartley than meets the eye, and does he know what monster hides behind the machine? IMDB

Review:
Horrible, horrible movie, but I love it! :/ :)

Horrible plot, horrible ending (until the final end), but the actors do a great job I think. Robert Englund is a little creepy, and so is the photographer in the movie. :/ But this is definately a movie if you want blood, gore, and lots of nasty stuff.

But don't be prepared for any revelations from this movie.. it is awful. :/ :)
But still a decent time filler. :)

Ringu 0: Bâsudei

AKA:
Ring Ø: Birthday

Written by:
Kôji Suzuki (short story Ring: Birthday)
Hiroshi Takahashi (screenplay)

Directed by:
Norio Tsuruta

Made in:
Japan in 2000

Actors:
Yukie Nakama .... Sadako Yamamura
Seiichi Tanabe .... Tôyama
Yoshiko Tanaka .... Shôko Miyaji
Kumiko Aso .... Etsuko Tachihara
Ryûji Mizukami .... Wataru Kuno

Kaoru Okunuki .... Aiko Hazuki
Daisuke Ban .... Heihachirô Ikuma
Junko Takahata .... Kaoru Arima
Masako .... Shizuko Yamamura
Masami Hashimoto .... Kiyomi
Kazue Tsunogae .... Sudô

Plot:
The prequel to the horror film Ringu, this movie provides the background story of how Sadako later became the vengeful murdering spirit. The story starts with her as a shy, somewhat withdrawn, college student who nonetheless gets involved in a drama club. The director thinks she has talent, but some of the other performers start to get jealous of the attention he gives her. Meanwhile, a reporter investigating Sadako's spiritualist mother thinks there's something very suspicious about the young woman, and arrives on campus to confront Sadako just as a series of strange deaths start sweeping through the drama club. IMDB

Review:
Definately a good movie, but like with most Asian movies, the beginning is slighly confusing, not knowing if the movie is going through many flashbacks or just one or none at all.

The Japanese and American versions of The Ring are very, very different. Almost 2 completely different stories. I can get more into that, but I'll wait until I review The Ring.

This movie is creepy, but really not until the end. The plot is okay, but not as good as the other 2 Japanese movies. This one explains a lot in the Japenese story, but I really don't think they can make a 3rd American Ring movie. I don't think the story would work, but I suppose we'll find out if they do or don't remake it.

I think the whole drama school thing is very much a filler to find out more about Sadako and what happened to her.

Language is in Japanese of course, but should be very easy to find with English subtitles.

I did really like the movie, but it isn't as good as the other two, Ringu and Ringu 2.

On the train he meets Judy, niece of Aunt Harris who owns the place with her husband Dr Storm and who are using the guests for surgical mind-control experiments. So while Jason and Judy are pretty quickly making out, they are just as quickly working out how to get away. IMDB

Review:
A very, very horrible movie, but that is why I love it! :D

This one is also going in "Hurly's" category, because, well, most people would probably hate this movie, but I love it. :/ :)

It is a bad, British B movie. The actors can't act and are horribly ugly. But this is why I find it so charming. It is very simple, with a decent horror plot.

Sure, it is really lacking in a lot of aspects, like the creepy zombie people .. :/ But it is truly only for those that are horror movie buffs. Everyone else will turn it off after 5 minutes. (I think Fredrik almost cries when I put in the movie.) :D

It has very typical "British" movie music, very much reminds me of music from Monty Python.

Go ahead, try the movie, I doubt you will like it.. :P :))

A hilarious movie! One of Tom Hank's best. Not a very serious movie, but it has a great cast. One of the funniest comedies I've ever seen, and one of my most favorite films. There are some great lines, and the acting is SO over the top, everything is incredibly exaggerated, and it just makes the movie so much better! I definately recommend this movie, and it deserves a:

IMDB

Review:
**Warning**
This movie is NOT for everyone. It is a wannabe snuff film. It is very violent and really has no plot besides killing people. This is why it is going in a special category review, specifically for "Hurly's" movies. The only title I know it by is The Last House on Dead End Street, but this is a cut version, much less intense than the other, longer, versions. It is a movie about a guy who makes snuff films. I like the movie, but once again, I am a little demented when it comes to horror movies.

But anyways, The Cuckoo Clocks of Hell is supposed to be the full length version. The movie was made to be 175 minutes, released in 1973, but retracted because it was too gruesome, and rereleased as The Last House on Dead End Street in 1977, cut down to only 77 minutes. Unfortunately, I don't think it is longer possible to find the version The Cuckoo Clocks of Hell. The plot in The Last House on Dead End Street might not make much sense when you watch it, well, because it is less than ½ the movie it was intended to be. So, the plot is a little sketchy, but I don't think the original really had much of a plot to begin with. The cut version, being very much pieced together, created rumors that the movie really was a snuff film, and was sold underground. But rumors die hard, even after the DVD release.

This movie is banned in Canada (Ontario) and Australia.

But please, don't watch this movie unless you are into movies like, Cannibal Holocaust, and Guinea Pig.

When Frank-N-Furter announces that he is returning to the galaxy Transylvania, Riff Raff the butler and Magenta the maid declare that they have plans of their own. IMDB

Review:
This is one of my most favorite movies of all time. The first time I saw it I was a little freaked out (not expecting what I saw), but it is really a movie. The songs are great, the actors do such a good job. I've never seen the stage performance, but I can't believe that it would be better than the movie. Great songs to sing along with, and if Fredrik is really unlucky, I'll end up quoting the whole movie while we watch it. :D

The Spaceballs ask Roland a tremendous ransom: all the air of Druidia (you see, the air of Spaceball had serious pollution problems...). The King decides to offer a generous amount of money to a space rogue, Lone Star, to persuade him to save Vespa. What follows is the parody of a _LOT_ of famous SF movies. IMDB

One of my favorite movies, of all time. I grew up watching this movie, as well as many other bad 80's movies. And once again Jamie Lee is my favorite actress, the Queen of scream. Of course there is bad acting, but at least these are med school students, so the age of the actors actually works in this movie! It was very difficult to find a copy of this movie, my mom had to order it for me in the US, so we were lucky to get a DVD version, which I think they have stopped making. A good, classic, horror movie from the 80's. A good movie, with some classic Jamie Lee Curtis screaming. Young David Copperfield is actually in the movie!, providing magic tricks for the guests.

Review:
One of the best, funniest movies I have ever seen! The entire movie is funny, but there are specific parts that are.. hilarious. Like, the rap singing in the beginning, the trouble with names, flare, and the printer/fax machine. Everyone needs to see this movie. The actors do such a great job. "Riiigght...." This is a movie you definately need to see.

Review:
A classic horror movie. Jamie Lee is one of my favorite actresses, so I am partial to anything she does. Most people would probably find the movie medicore, but this is one of my favorites. There is some okay acting, even though the actors are all in their 30's playing high school students. I grew up watching this movie, and many other bad horror movies like it, I'm going to have to give it an:

Review:
This movie is.. horrible. It isn't funny. It is a bunch of actors who used to be funny, trying to still be funny, with a script geared for a much younger generation. The only funny thing is the newly married friend trying to give away non-wanted wedding presents. It is a wanna-be bad-80's-classic. The movie tries too hard and fails miserably. It deserves:

Another girl in her school, Agnes, is in love with her but is too shy to do anything about it. For different reasons, Elin ends up at Agnes' birthday party as the only guest. They have a girl's night out together but after that Elin desperately avoids Agnes, refusing to even consider her own homosexuality. IMDB

Review:
There aren't that many good Swedish movies, but this one was even up for an Oscar. Yesterday was the first time I heard of the "Show Me Love" title, used for English speaking countries. It is called "Fucking" Åmål because of how much everyone hates living in this town. (Which is funny, because Fredrik and I love the town and wouldn't mind living there!) :/ :) It is a small town, not that far from the summerhouse, and we have been there many, many times. Even my parents have been there once. But this is a good movie. It is a love story, a - difficult love story for the two confused girls. Language is Swedish, and I'm sure it exists with English subtitles, if not even dubbed. But this is a very good movie.

Actually a pretty good movie!
Very funny and silly. Definately gets its point across. Every time I watch it, it is still just as funny.

Probably could be a little better, but comparing it to other parady movies of the time, it is pretty good.

Review:
This has to be one of the best movies I have ever seen. The movie leaves you very confused about the plot until the last couple of minutes of the movie, and then everything pulls together. It is scary - the pull-your-feet-under-the-cover scary. The scary, creepy parts are reminiscent of The Ring. Language is Korean, but you can find the movie with English subtitles.
